Stop, Pause, go!

Do you ever feel like your body is telling you to stop? I definitely feel like we are hardwired to need periods of rest and this is exactly what we felt we needed after a busy and brief back to the UK at the end of August. We travelled out to the Hook of Holland from Harwich and then, because of the FCO COVID-19 travel restrictions we transited through The Netherlands.

We found ourselves in the region of North-Rhine Westphalia, and at a campsite up in the hills, within a national park area. The beautiful rural campsite of Campingpark im Bergischen Land provided a tranquil place for us to stop, to be together as a family, to catch our breath, surrounded by lush green meadows, pine forests and amongst the cows, goats, and bunny rabbits!

This lovely family-run campsite was about 20 miles east of Cologne and as well as lovely large pitches with water and electricity points on each one, there was a lovely restaurant and some great facilities for the kids. The playpark was one of the best we have come across - with climbing frames, swings, trampolines set into the ground, football pitch and table tennis tables. The highlight was undoubtedly the bunny enclosure and goat field which guests could spend time in feeding the animals! We'd really recommend Camping Im Bergishen Land.
